Sophia's Futsal World Championship
Donation protected
Sophia Claros is a member of the U-14 US Youth Futsal National Team and is the lead goal scorer on her City Futsal team which has won back to back national championships. Not only does she train for futsal for 2.5 hours every day Monday through Friday, she is also a starting center midfielder on the #1 outdoor soccer team in the United States! This child trains like a champion! She can do 1100 alternating juggles in a row without dropping the ball and the elastico and around the world are her signature moves in games, causing crowds to smile and ooh and ah when she does these skill moves. Sophia is also a straight A student and a voracious reader - having read over 200 books in the past year.
Sophia has been invited by the Houston Aces (a professional US women's futsal team) to travel with the team and participate in the junior division of the Women's World Futsal Championships in Madrid, Spain in June. This is the first time US women have had the opportunity to compete at this level. Unfortunately, there is no funding for the junior girls and so Sophia must raise $2,000 to be able to attend.
I am begging for any help for my daughter! She is such a good kid who works hard every single day to accomplish her goals. As her mother, it is difficult to tell her that I cannot afford to send her to something that she earned with skill and hard work! Any help you can offer would be so appreciated! If 400 people would be willing to donate just $5.00, then Sophia would have enough money to join her teammates in Spain. Please, please, please help her.
