Establishing Ministry In Peru!

From May-August of 2016, I will be returning to Iquitos, Peru to continue forming the women's ministry I've been working with called Hefzi-Ba (Hebrew: "my delight is in her"). Our ministry is one of many programs running out of YWAM Iquitos (Youth With A Mission ), where we live in the heart of the Amazon jungle working to spread the Kingdom of Jesus through the city and Amazon River communities!
Hefzi-Ba has 3 overall goals:
1. To build relationship with women in the region
2. To help those women grow in their relationship with the Lord
3. To enable the women in their God-given gifts and desires to achieve everything that God created them to be; Encouraging them through the spiritual support we can offer as well as using practical tools (such as job skills training) to help them reach independence and a fulfilling lifestyle.
Hefzi-Ba has a few focuses to actively reach these goals:
A. Women's meetings twice per month to host times of fellowship, worship, teachings, and building relationships with the women involved
B. Skills training seminars and workshops
C. Spending time with the women and men working in prostitution in a specific Plaza in the city
D. Giving human trafficking prevention presentations throughout Iquitos and the River communities
Upon my return after a visit to MN, I will be joining staff again at YWAM Iquitos to work with Hefzi-Ba to continue the work we have started this year with the women in Iquitos. I've been blessed with so many opportunities to share about ending/preventing human trafficking (one of my biggest passions), and learning how to lead a women's ministry. This continuation is extremely important to me to learn the skills I will need to eventually open up a safe home for women coming out of sex trafficking and prostitution. I need to know the best way to reach these women in the future, and the practice I am getting right now is a hands-on necessity for the tools I will need later on!
I'm so excited to see what God has in store for this season, and I hope you'll join me in this adventure by keeping updated and the many ways you can partner with this ministry! All funds go directly towards my daily needs (rent, food, water, transportation, etc.) and ministry fund to continue the Lord's work in Peru. I will update regularly through this page, my blog, and especially my Facebook page!
