Hello! I am Ria, and I am a collaborative pianist. The video above was from one of my previous performances with my good friend Joanna Nerius. I’ve recently been given the opportunity to attend the Aspen Music Festival and School (AMFS) in Colorado.
With no doubt, attending summer music festival is crucial to young musician. It is one of the best ways to get pre-professional experience, and engage with professional performers and pedagogues, not to mention that to build important relationships with future colleagues from all over the world. All of these will have significant impact on one’s professional career later.
As one of the top classical music festivals in the United States, AMFS brings together talent from around the world for 8-week of intensive music training, under the guidance of renowned professionals in the field. It compasses more than 600 students, 5 orchestras, opera, dozens of chamber music concerts, master classes, and more. It is an honor to be selected to attend this institute to study with two of the most well-respected figures in collaborative piano, Rita Sloan and Jean Barr.
This campaign will help defray the cost of living expenses while I attend Aspen.
The support I am seeking is $3675 for the program of total 8 weeks. The break down as:
Transportation: $500
Room and board: $2800
Health insurance and Facility fees: $375
