Send me to Spinal Cord Rehab
Donation protected
I suffered a traumatic spinal cord injury. I was trapped in an abusive relationship, caught in a downward spiral until he shot me on June 1st in the jaw damaging my spinal cord at the C3-7 level. I survived the injury but am left a C5 quadriplegic. After spending 12 weeks in ICU, I was transferred to a local rehab facility for 60 days. The staff was wonderful but ill-equipped to deal with my injury. My parents battled with my insurance company to get me transferred to a real SCI rehab facility, but to no avail. I am now going home to live with my parents with virtually no functional improvement. I am 27 years old, a respiratory therapist, 1st place winner in a Figure competition, and now totally dependent on everyone for all my needs. I know that I have so much more potential. My goal is to go to Craig Hospital in Colorado so that I can be all that I can be!
