Send KyShae' to Rio De Janeiro

Hello everyone, my name is KyShae’ Mason, I am a junior Health Science major, Public Health minor at the illustrious Spelman College. Every year Spelman College selects students to study abroad with our CIEE Intercultural Engagement Program. This year I have been accepted to travel to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, which is located in South America. I will be traveling from May 13-May 27, 2018.  I was also selected to receive a scholarship of $2,200 leaving a remainder of $1200 for the cost of studying abroad. I am also required to purchase my flight which is about $1500. My goal is to raise $3000 to travel to Rio De Janeiro. My first payment is due on November 20, 2017 and the remaining amount will be due December 8, 2017. Studying abroad has been a goal I set for myself upon entering the gates of Spelman College and to be given this wonderful opportunity is a blessing from God. This trip will allow me to develop knowledge, skills, and understanding to communicate and engage appropriately across cultures, ultimately become a more effective leader in today’s globalizing world, and develop a personal vision statement for engaging in an intercultural world. I will be receiving three credits towards my Bachelor of Science degree.
