Send BGA Students to DC 2019!
Tax deductible
Boston Green Academy prepares students to be tomorrow’s leaders in the sustainability of our community and world. The first step in this journey--becoming informed and engaged citizens-- is the foundation of our work. BGA’s annual Project Week gives our 9th, 10th and 11th graders opportunities to choose their own adventure. Back popular demand for the 4th year, we are offering students this incredible opportunity and we are committed to making sure our students return from their visit to D.C. with a better understanding of how our government works, why it is crucial to participate in local, state, and national elections, and how they can bring what they learned back to their communities.
Help bring our students to D.C.! Any amount goes a long way and all donations are tax deductible.

Thanks to the generous support of our extended BGA family, last year 16 students were able to travel to our nation’s capital for five days. There, they visited the House of Representatives, spoke with our Congressman’s office, and visited the iconic museums that tell important stories about our country’s history, culture, and democratic process. This year we want to open the opportunity to 16 more students whose interests in government, law, and journalism make them ideal candidates for this project and who will benefit from their exposure to the city and its treasures.
Last year, your support gave our students the opportunity to tour the National Mall, visit the Holocaust Museum and the National Museum of African American History and Culture, meet with the office of Representative Stephen Lynch, observe a live session of the House, experience the diversity of the city’s neighborhoods, and visit the pandas at the zoo! The highlight of the trip was watching a vote and the swearing in of a new Representative in the House. We always know a trip has been successful when the kids don’t want to leave.

These are some of the reactions our students shared with us about their experiences:
“Going to D.C. was a fun experience. I got to go to a new place and see new things. It allowed me to get out of my comfort zone and do something new every day. I met new people from my school and even became friends with people on the trip” - Malik
“The D.C. trip had an impact on me because it allowed me to socialize with new people in a different environment. I was also able to learn about history in a fun way” - Benorlda
"The D.C. trip was such a great experience! I loved seeing all the famous places that I had learned about and having the opportunity to grow closer to the people on the trip. I really liked using their Metro system and seeing how different it is to the MBTA. Overall, I would definitely go back if I could." - Mary
Please help our Boston Green Academy students get to Washington D.C. Your donation will make a real difference in our students' lives by exposing them to experiences that they will remember forever.
A little about us:
We are staff members at Boston Green Academy, a Horace Mann Boston Public Charter School that welcomes a diverse body of students at all levels of ability.
Project Week is an opportunity for students to engage in experiential learning outside of the classroom and give them meaningful experiences that they would likely not have otherwise. 83% of our students receive free/reduced lunch and a large portion of them have never traveled outside of the state or even the city.
According to our students, Project Week is, by far, the BEST week of school--and we can make it the best week only because of your support. Please join our BGA family and help make our D.C. trip a reality!

If you'd prefer to send a check, please make it out to "Boston Green Academy Foundation" and send to:
