My name is Valentina and I am a 19 year old singer from Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico. This winter I auditioned to A Cappella Academy and I was recently notified that I got in! This is my last chance to go, and with the current Covid situation the directors have made three small and safe Cohorts in different parts of the States and I was chosen to participate in one of it!

I’ll take part in this intensive course in Los Angeles, California with other 12 incredible singers from all around the world. I am deeply grateful and excited.
I also have to quarantine in LA 15 days prior camp. Tuition is $2,250 USD (not including plane tickets), and unfortunately, my family doesn’t have the funds to pay for this expenses. I have to gather enough money to travel by myself and pay for a safe place to stay for two weeks and everything I may need (food, water, personal hygiene stuff) + the tuition of Academy.
Because of the money exchange our Mexican money is not nearly enough to cover the whole thing.
I have sung for as long as I can remember. I started to sing jazz since I was 8 years old and that gave me the opportunity to start college here at the age of 16. I’m very committed with my singing career and this is an amazing opportunity for me.
I had the honor to attend Academy in 2019 with the financial help of my community and that was the first time I’ve ever left Mexico. I’ve been looking forward to be in this camp again respect for the tremendous respect I have for the teachers and all the people who has went, and the experience of learning of them. This is surreal for me.
