Send Nela home to Portugal

Our last gift to Nela: getting her home to Portugal so the Mediterranean sun can shine where she rests.
Her family & friends have done the research, and it will cost approximately $8000 (€7000) in total to prepare her for burial and travel, transport her from Boston to Lisbon, and then finally bring her to Mina de São Domingos -- a beautiful place where she was born and where her goddaughter will eventually be able to join her.
We will be seeking funds from the state of Massachusetts & from Portugal's Social Security to help pay for all the services involved, but many of you already know that this will not even come close to covering everything, and Nela did not have money saved for this. We know that Nela did NOT want to be cremated, and we would love to be able to provide this last bit of care for her: to take her home, to her beloved goddaughter Tatiana, in a warm place she loved.
I am so sorry that we are unable to do this ourselves, without fundraising. There is no obligation for anyone to give. But if you can, we would be grateful. We want very much to make this happen for her.
