Hey!!

My name is Ronald, I’m a filmmaker/ photographer based in New York City. Since May 29th, the first day of protests in the city, I’ve walked, ran, and biked across all 5 boroughs while capturing the BLM movement. After 5 days of shooting non stop, I realized I had the opportunity to pursue making a documentary on the movement and I’ve been shooting tirelessly since. My curiosity lies in the movements impact on this city/ this nation, and ultimately trying to see how/ if change is achieved.

I’ve been fully self-funded to this point. I’ve had the opportunity to travel to Louisville, Washington DC, Los Angeles, and Miami to cover protests, which has given me incredible perspective regarding the nationwide movement. I’m planning on furthering my travels during this crucial pre-election time in order to further my project, report/update/ analyze my experiences on IG, remain independent in my project, and capture the polarizing climate and passionate people on both sides of the political spectrum in the Midwest, south, and PNW. I’ve turned to a gofundme fundraiser because I can’t financially justify these expenses at this time considering the thousands I’ve already spent without any return.

I’m planning on:

-trip to a Trump rally in the south or the midwest (preferably two in a region)

-trip to 1-2 stops on the @untilfreedom state of emergency tour.

-trip to Portland for 2 days next weekend

The funds raised will go towards financing this trip: flights, accommodation, rental car, and maybe a Trump hat to help blend in at one of his rallies. I’d be going by myself, as per usual, and what I capture and experience will be aired on IG and in my documentary. I’ve been honing a hybrid video journalism style in my IG that includes a mixture of analysis, live updates, and video vignettes. This is a chance to help Contribute and get me to some of these important events before the election to document.
