Marissa has Friedreich's Ataxia, a rare genetic disease that attacks the body and causes multiple impairments. For Marissa this has impacted every aspect of her life and created pain and challenges that most of us could never imagine.
At just 15, Marissa is a beautiful, bright young woman, who rarely complains through all the pain and finds joy wherever she can.
Her biggest dream is to go to Paris.
Marissa is the oldest of 6 kids. Her father serves in the Air Force. Her mother stays home taking care of the kids and homeschooling. In a single income military family, especially one with medical issues, money is not abundant.
Friends, we are grieving. Dawn is losing her baby girl. They want to go Paris. This is Marissa's dream. It is Dawn's hope to share this experience with her daughter and have these memories to treasure.
Marissa's doctor has approved the trip for when the travel ban lifts, but they don't have the money. Money. That's all it takes to give them this dream.
