Maddy Baxley Governor's School
My name is Madeleine Baxley and I have been chosen to represent Signal Mountain Middle High School at Tennessee Governor's School for the Arts for Theatre.
Governor's School is held at Middle Tennessee State University from June 1st to June 24th.
While there I will learn performance studies, design technology, theatrical and literary studies, and theatre management.
I am the first person from our school accepted for this honor since 2013.
The Governor's School for the Arts is not funded by the state; however, all 10 other Governor's Schools offered by the state of Tennessee are fully funded.
The total cost for Tennessee Governor's School for the Arts is $3200. My parents have already paid $1500 leaving me a balance of $1700.
My goal date to raise this money is May 1st.
After attending several theatre conferences, I have already been offered two college scholarships based on my acting and technical experiences in:
Rock of Ages (by Chris D'Arienzo) - Spring 2018
Senior Scenes - Spring 2018
Steel Magnolias (by Robert Harling) - Fall 2017
Bye Bye Birdie (by Michael Stewart) - Spring 2017
Senior Scenes - Spring 2016
The Laramie Project (by Moisés Kaufman) - Fall 2016
Attending this Governor's School will allow me the rare opportunity to not only further my theatrical experience but to also expand my collegiate options which will allow me to pursue my passion.
Thank you sooooo much for anything that you can do to help me reach my goal!!!!!
