Send Gabe to Jr Nationals

Gabe Smith is a 17-year-old senior at Johnsburg Central School located in Johnsburg, NY. Born and raised in the Adirondacks, Gabe has grown to love everything the Adirondacks has to offer. Gabe is an avid Nordic and Alpine skier. He has participated and competed with the Johnsburg Nordic Ski Team for six years. After years of hard work and dedication, Gabe has achieved his dream and has qualified for the Junior Nationals in Truckee, California. He will represent the Mid-Atlantic Region at the competition, which takes place March7-14, 2020. The Mid-Atlantic team is comprised of qualifying racers from New York,New Jersey, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and The District of Columbia. Out of these states only 15 racers are accepted. To be considered for the team, racers are required to compete and qualify in four out of six qualifying races and remain under a certain amount of points. In addition to the Junior Nationals, Gabe prequalified for the state competition, which will take place on February 24-25, 2020. Gabe had to place in the top 5 of his section to  pre-qualify for this race. We are asking for help to offset the costs of this incredible opportunity.  Gabe will need airfare, lodging and uniforms all of which are very expensive.
