Send Char To France!
Bonjour! All journeys begin with a single step! Our Charlotte has earned the privilege of en voyagent to France with her fellow 4th year French students, under the guidance of East High's award winning teacher and Francophile, Mr. Paul Kirschling! During their 11 incredible days, over Spring Break 2018, Char will have the phenonmenal opportunity to spend five days with a host family, including attending a French ecole (school) and getting to know Lyon, France as only true Frenchmen know. Then it's off to visit Paris, France where she spend the remaining six days. Some other highlights include going to the Louvre to see the famous La Joconde (Mona Lisa), enjoying dinner on the Eiffel Tower (& viewing Paris in all its glory at night), plus a leisurely bateau ride down the Seine!
Many of you already know that Charlotte is the youngest of 5, living with her divorced very low- income mother and young adult brother with autism and other mental health needs. Though identified early herself as having a learning disability and speech impediments, Charlotte worked hard to overcome her issues and now takes advanced placement classes at her high school. She is active in her community as well and can be counted on to advocate against bullying and educate others the importance of good mental health. Won't you join the fun and help this deserving young lady get to France?! While Charlotte will be working this summer at Sun Valley Youth Center, as well as possibly getting paid as an occasional independent contractor at HILLS, inc , (where she been a dedicated volunteer for the past 4 years), she desperately requires your help! Charlotte needs at least $600 by June 15th, though $1600 would lock down her seat on the plane (then she would have time to raise the final payment of $2000 by October, 2017). We will be honored and extremely grateful if you take a step with her to provide ANY financial assistance toward her dream voyage!
