Hello!
My name is Parker King and I am a senior at Pepperdine University, as well as a resident advisor (RA) at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, CA. Here at the ranch we have 70+ Pepperdine students living in 11 different houses all throughout the property.
If you have been watching the news recently, then you have likely heard about the Woolsey Fire that is currently burning in Malibu and Thousand Oaks. This fire has affected numerous Pepperdine students both on and off campus, and has sadly destroyed 4 of the student houses here at Calamigos. The students living in these houses have lost most, if not all, of the possessions they left behind when we evacuated early Friday morning.
This GoFundMe’s purpose is to raise funds for these students to help them with housing/lost items/and ultimately adjusting back to normal life. Any amount helps!!
We are extremely grateful that everyone is safe and accounted for, and we would greatly appreciate your prayers at this time!
A verse in Scripture that has always stuck with me now has new meaning in the context of these losses. Please consider helping your neighbors, both near and far, in the wake of disaster.

2. Your relationship or contact to the parties you're raising funds for
- I am the resident advisor and friend of the Pepperdine students who lost their homes in the Woolsey Fire.
3. How the funds will be spent (be specific as possible)
- Funds will be spent by the students as they so choose to. The students receiving aid have decided to spend it on housing, clothes and other lost items, gasoline, and any other purchase made necessary by their evacuation of their homes.
4. Your withdrawal plan to get the funds from the campaign to the ultimate beneficiary/ies
- the funds will be withdrawn and Venmo’d to each of the 20 students who lost their homes. The amount chosen for each student will be even across the board
