lupus awareness

My name is Kenya Blackmon. I am a aspiring young lady in hopes of one day becoming a lawyer. I am 24 years old. In 2013 i was diagnosed with lupus also known as systemic lupus erythematosus. This particular disease attacks the vital organs including kidneys, brain, heart, and lungs. I have been fighting this disease for 2yrs now. The medicine required to treat this disease is very costy and so are the procedures. The medicine ranges anywhere from $100 to $ 200 a bottle. I am currently taking a total of 9 medications to keep this condition in check. My mom takes care of me and helps me to battle this disease everyday. She is a real super inspiration in my eyes. However her job does not pay enough to support my doctor visits and my medicine cost. She is not only my caretaker but she is also my brothers care taker who suffers from a mental disease. It is hard trying to fight something that can't be cured. This is a very hard struggle, but with treatment it can be controlled. I am asking for your help to beat the odds and beat this disease head on. I was denied by disability over three times as to them this condition isn't life threatening but it is. It affects some of major organs which allows you to live. I was hosiptalized twice and went through 2 surgeries. One surgery was to save my kidneys because they were failing and the other one was for swelling of my neck which closed up my thoart and limited my access to breath. So i am asking that you join me on my journey to fight lupus. Join me on my journey to survive. Please help support my fight to live an normal and healthy life because i am not ready to give in yet.
