Kieran's Physical Therapy Goal

Hi folks.
As most of you know I had a stroke in 2014, which left me with physical and brain injury, but today I can walk with a cane, and have made significant improvements in my recovery. Throughout this, one of my greatest stressors has been the constant instability of my medical insurance, namely what I'm covered for, and at what percentage. Some months, I have been entirely out of pocket for meds. I've sometimes had to make hard decisions regarding which medications I can afford to purchase on my disability payment. To continue my botox treatments without too much interruption, I'm asking for some help.
Botox helps stop painful contractions and tremors, which makes therapy more fruitful as well. Next go around is a big deal. It’s for my stroke-affected hand, that and therapy might get my fingers moving again. A round of botox is partially covered, which is 1,600 for me each time. So how does Botox work? Botox blocks the signal between the nerves and the muscle, preventing my muscles from contracting. This makes things easier, things like eating, dressing, well, life in general. It allows me a far greater chance at making progress in physical therapy. With botox, PT doesn't do much good, having to always fight contractures, which are painful and maddening.
I am working with my caseworker to get better coverage for the treatment. I don’t know when that will happen, or honestly, if the insurance gods will suddenly change their minds again, but I do know the botox treatment to my arm and elbow worked wonderfully last time. I don't want to miss or delay the next treatment, so I am here trying to raise the money myself. If you can help a little, thank you so much. If you can’t, thank you for reading and please share.
