My name is Kiana Porter and I am a Junior English major at Saint Joseph’s University.
I am excited and honored to be a participant in the 2018 Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant sponsored by the Mighty Psi chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity, Incorporated. This pageant seeks to recognize and empower excellence amongst women of color by giving myself and other talented and aspiring young women the opportunity to display our confidence, intelligence, and beauty.
The winner of this pageant will not only receive an educational scholarship but the opportunity to spend the next year working on her community service platform.
An essential key to my success in this pageant is fundraising, which is why I am asking for your help. The proceeds raised will go directly towards the scholarship recipients as well as toward supporting the chapter as they continue to serve our community.
