Hello, our names are Chiara and Daniela, and we work as full-time volunteers at O Projeto Riza-Animal Sanctuary in Coimbra, Portugal.
O Projeto Riza is a small animal sanctuary that rescues and rehabilitates farm animals who have been neglected or abused before being welcomed into the sanctuary.
We spend every day with our animal friends, loving them as members of our family.
After a very rainy winter, we decided to launch a fundraising campaign to change the shape of the land on which the animals live.
The sanctuary is situated on a hill. Because of the severe rain this winter, some of the muddy ground started sliding into the bottom area of the sanctuary, where the animals have their stable and eat.
The mud makes the animals' daily lives very tough and dangerous!
To address this problem, we intend to build terraces in the area and plant trees to retain the rainwater.
The funds raised will be used to pay for the work needed to protect our animal friends next winter.

Olá, somos a Chiara e a Daniela, e trabalhamos como voluntárias a tempo inteiro no O Projeto Riza.
Passamos todos os dias com os nossos amigos animais, amando-os como membros das nossas famílias.
Após um Inverno muito chuvoso, decidimos lançar uma campanha de angariação de fundos para alterar o terreno em que os animais vivem.
O santuário está situado numa colina. Devido às fortes chuvas deste Inverno, parte do terreno lamacento começou a deslizar para a área inferior do santuário, onde os animais têm o seu estábulo e se alimentam.
A lama tornou a vida diária dos animais muito dura e perigosa!
Para resolver este problema, pretendemos construir terraços na colina e plantar árvores para reter a água da chuva.
Os fundos angariados serão utilizados para pagar o trabalho necessário para proteger os nossos amigos animais no próximo Inverno.
