My name is Patricia Atkinson-Cotton, best friend to Sebrina Edwards Wise. I am creating this page because Sebrina is about to face another huge obstacle in her life. She is scheduled to have a Bone Marrow Transplant. Sebrina is supported by her wonderful husband, beautiful children, parents, close family and friends.
Sebrina was born and raised in Wilson, NC and she currently resides there with her husband David Wise of 18 years. They have one son Ayden (6), two daughters Lavada (29) and Tiara (27).
Sebrina was diagnosed with cancer in 2010. After a couple of months of enduring harsh treatments of chemo, she found out that she and David were expecting their first child together. Sadly, one month later they miscarried their unborn child. In 2011 they found out they were expecting again. 5 ½ months into the pregnancy, Ayden was born but was in critical condition and weighed only 1 lb. 9 oz. Miraculously, Ayden survived and was later diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and deaf in both ears. David retired in order to take care of their son who needed 24 hour care. In November 2016, Sebrina resigned from her job due to illness and shortly afterwards she was diagnosed with a recurrence of cancer. Although she successfully completed her chemo treatments she was told by her doctors that she needed to undergo a bone marrow transplant to be fully cured from cancer. She has now started the exhausting process for the bone marrow transplant.
This family has a long grueling few months ahead of them. Sebrina will be back and forth from Wilson, NC to Chapel Hill, NC prepping for her bone marrow transplant. They have to find care for Ayden at times when David will be caring for Sebrina in Chapel Hill. They will have gas and food expenses as well as countless medical bills.
We ask that you will find it in your heart to support the Wise family. All donations will be used to cover medical and living expenses. With Sebrina and David as the beneficiary to this campaign, they will have direct access to all donations.
