The Search for Mr. Pink

I have been asked by the family to start this fund to help offset the costs for the search and recovery efforts to bring Kirk home. (aka Mr. Pink, Whitey, Handsome Ransom). On Sunday February 15^th our world and hearts were shattered as we received word that he & a friend did not return home from a sled ride the night before on the frozen St. Lawrence River.  A ride he has taken many times over the years and was very familiar to him.

No matter what time of year or time of day, you could find Kirk out there on the river.  He made his home and married his wife Amanda along those shores. He loved boating and fishing and shared that love with his children.  He was happy & free out there on the water. You could always see the grin on his face as he passed by.

Kirk was a loving father, husband, son, brother, nephew, and friend.  He was the light that brightened up any room or situation.  His smile and laughter was contagious and no matter how bad he was picking on you, you always left laughing & smiling. That’s how he showed he cared. He was a lover not a fighter and he is & always will be loved by many.    

From the day he went missing his family and friends along with local fire departments, emergency personnel & diver teams (Hogansburg, Fort Covington and Quebec) have been out searching in the bitter cold.  Their efforts and dedication is unwavering despite the elements & emotions of losing a beloved friend.   The generous donations of food and supplies from the community are greatly appreciated by the family, however there are still the costs of specialized equipment used for ice rescue and recovery, more search and dive teams, underwater cameras, fuel, portable warming stations, etc.  Please help us to raise funds to help continue the search efforts to bring Kirk home.  Any amount will be greatly appreciated and unused funds will be used for funeral costs.

Every day that passes gets harder and harder. We keep praying that he is returned home to us soon so we may begin to say our final goodbyes.  The words “just wait until spring” will not be acknowledged.  This is a very emotional request as I along with his family and friends are still having a very hard time wrapping our minds around the fact that he might be gone.  Please continue to send prayers, thoughts and love to Kirk’s family & friends during this very difficult time.
