Sean William’s PANS/PANDAS healing

October 2017 we noticed our 7 year olds personality change- he woke up terrified to leave his mother side-emotionally grieving “time” the had lost together- like climbing a high hill on a roller coaster every day for almost a week his personality went from emotional to violent/aggressive- falling in and out of rages and perseverance about things that hadn’t seemed important weeks before- vocal tics and OCD behaviors arose, he was refusing to go to school, his mother having to coax him in daily- with the full cooporation of the school, the family and then worked together to see what was “up” with Sean- two ER visits and an extended stay at a behavioral hospital for children later we insisted our pediatrician check him for something other than the “mental illness” they were insisted our son Sean developed overnight- our son over a course of a week developed fears of insects, hospitals that were gonna “test him” and needing help for his brain that was “broken” and “on fire” waiting for the results seemed like an eternity- when the results were in STREPTOCOCCUS- high infection in his blood results- no sign of an illness other than the intense change in his everyday life-we were instantly put on our first ANTIBIOTIC- our pedes wanted us to get a full workup- MRI (normal), neuro (pending) and bloodwork- platelets we’re high as well- we took a shot and contacted a well known PANDAS/PANS doctor- DR. TRIFILETTI- we’ve since met with him and his team and are working towards a health plan- we are now on two more anitibiotics, an antiviral and ibruproffen- the initial visit was out of pocket since dr.T doesn’t accept insurance and the next appointment as well is out of pocket- we’re hoping this is the thing that will get us back on track- we’re asking for help with Sean’s medical bills, gas and the medicines we have to keep Sean on for at least a year- thank you for your prayers and support- any questions about this illness moving forward do not hesitate to ask- we’re learning and we hope you can learn with us- LOVE, the AYALAS (Sean, Mikey, daisy, willie and Michelle)
