Sean Smuda Fire Relief Fund

Sean Smuda, who has had a studio in the Robert’s Shoe Building for seventeen years, lost everything in the devastating fire that destroyed the building on the Sunday night before Memorial Day.

Sean, an artist, photographer and performer, has been a consistent personality in the Minneapolis art scene for over twenty years. Always interested in making shit happen, Sean started Shoe Box Gallery on the ground floor of Robert’s Shoes in 2003 in the display window of the store. Just recently, Sean started Pirsig Projects, in a display window and in the alley of the building. Both of these spaces have shown hundreds of artists over the years. In his studio, he generously invited all to  receptions, performances, poetry readings, music etc. It was a one of a kind space that Sean created and will be missed by all that had the privilege to partake in its offerings.

Loosing everything in a fire, literally means loosing everything.  Along with the basic necessities of life, the most pressing needs are replacing his photo equipment and computer so that he can continue to work and find a secure place to land.

Please help if you can! Thank-you all!
