On January 14th, 2019, following an urgent visit to the emergency room due to a consistent nose bleed and agonizing body pain, completely out of the blue - Sean Harvey was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).
This GoFundMe page has been created to help support Sean and his family as they start this fight against this aggressive cancer of the blood and bone marrow.
Since his diagnosis, Sean has been admitted to the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto, where doctors and nurses have been working to develop a strategy to fight this horrible disease.
Sean is one of the most vivacious, hilarious, strong, resilient, FUN, and full of life people that you will ever meet. He is one of those people that you want to be best friends with – or at least be close to as soon as you meet him. Always there to pick you up when you are down, always the first to be on your side and make you feel special… this is why he is so loved by many.
He was just starting a new chapter in his life when he received this diagnosis. He was only in his second week of classes in the Arboriculture program at Humber College when he started feeling excruciating pain in his body. On the advice of his parents he went to Michael Garron Hospital. After an initial blood test, within 24 hours they sent Sean by ambulance to Princess Margaret Hospital because the results were Acute (ALL) Leukemia!!!
Sean is very fortunate that he lives in Toronto and has the Princess Margaret Hospital to help determine his course of action/treatment.
It is still early days but he now knows it will be at least a two year long and painful treatment plan to counter this disease.
We want to help Sean and his family deal with the upcoming, unforeseen costs associated with his care and treatment. Sean had decided to change his career aspirations and had given up his job in order to go back to school. Because of this fantastic aspiration he does not have any medical insurance to aid him with his treatment. Canada does not cover prescriptions, rehabilitation or physical therapy, or every day costs of living. It is going to be a long, hard road to recovery.
Please help us help Sean through this terrible, unforeseen ordeal. We will do our best to update everyone on Sean’s fight on this GoFundMe page.
