Our Wonderful NHS Staff Need Our Help
I came across the FB page For the Love of Scrubs purely by accident, I was heart sore to find out how many of our hospitals, GP practices, care homes etc are running out of PPE. As an avid sewer I immediately joined the South London - For The Love of Scrubs FB group.
I am the current President of Dulwich WI and when I told our members about this they immediately wanted to help, so we are currently fund raising to buy fabric, elastic and cotton tape for a group of volunteers (myself and several of our members included) who are making scrubs, laundry bags and caps for South London hospitals.
Obviously, it is essential for NHS staff to wear protective clothing, in order to protect themselves and patients from infection. Sadly PPE is in incredibly short supply and by donating to cover our material costs you will enable us to keep donating our sewing skills and help more hospitals, GP centres and care centres who urgently need more supplies of PPE in order to stay safe while looking after all of us.
100m of fabric costs approximately £150 and each set of scrubs requires approximately 4.5m of fabric. So each set of scrubs costs approximately £7.50 please donate what you can.
