Scottie Surgery - Pls help our pup!

Our beloved 5 year old Scottie, Whiskey, was taken to the vet this week after we noticed him limping with his hind legs. At first we thought he might have Scottie cramps, but, after seeing him limp for a few days, we were worried and had him checked out. It turns out that he has torn ligaments on both of his rear legs. We were crushed. Not only because of the suffering he his enduring, but because this could not have come at a worse time. My father is currently unemployed and unable to afford to pay for the surgery. I am a college student and work part-time. My worry is that the vet has told us that the more torn his ligaments get the less chances that Whiskey will be able to walk. We have never used GoFundMe ever before, so I thought I would give it a shot. Whiskey means the world to our family and it gives us such a feeling of helplessness not to be able to do this for him.
