Scott's Fight with ALS

This October Scott, just 52 years old, was diagnosed with the terrifying neurodegenerative disease: ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
For those that are not aware of what ALS is, it is a fast progressing neurodegenerative disease that affects the nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord, causing loss of muscle control. This eventually results in the loss of the ability to walk, the use of hands, speech, ability to swallow and eventually the loss of the ability to breath. People who are diagnosed with ALS get the grim news of having a survival period of only 2 to 5 years.
Scott has already seen deterioration in hand grip, leg function, speech and swallowing. Although there are no conventional medical options for Scott, there has been success with alternative medicines helping to slow the progression of the disease and in some cases, reverse the effects. However, these options are not covered by insurance and many are not readily available.
 We would like to alleviate some of the costs associated with medical equipment and care he will need moving forward. We know many would like to help so we created this Go Fund Me account where 100% of the proceeds will go to alleviating financial stress, pursuing alternative options and increasing quality of life for Scott and his family.

 We are hoping to not only assist Scott during this journey but also to relieve him of financial stress so he may enjoy his time with his wife Dorothy, daughter Dakota (Kobyn), his granddaughter Navarra and many other family members.  They are always willing to help someone in need.
