Scott Kimmel Medical Fund

Bowel cancer is cancer in any part of the large bowel (colon or rectum). It is sometimes known as colorectal cancer and might also be called colon cancer or rectal cancer, depending on where it starts. Cancer of the small bowel is very rare and is usually called ‘small bowel cancer’ or ‘small intestine cancer’.

Scott Kimmel, transport driver out of our New Boston (Detroit) yard, has been a loyal and dedicated member of the Brenner Oil Family for 3 years. Scott had his first bout with small bowel cancer in January 2016. At that time, we thought Scott would be off work for 6-months, but he proved us all wrong. Scott did his treatments, followed doctor’s orders, and was back to work within 6 weeks!

Unfortunately, Scott has suffered a relapse, and the cancer is now at a stage 4 with liver involvement. Scott is undergoing regular, intense chemotherapy treatment, and expects to be off work for several months. Battling cancer has not only taken a toll on Scott physically and mentally, but also financially. Scott is a very proud husband, father, and provider for his family. The energy he does have after treatments is used worrying about the welfare of his family.

Brenner Oil Company is asking for everyone’s help to lessen the burden Scott and his family is feeling during this trying time. Please give what you can to help our co-worker, our friend.
