Scott Beaudry Gun Shot Recovery Fund Raise

Donation protected
Scott Beaudry is a Marine veteran that was deployed 3 times to Iraq from 2003 - 2007.  He experienced combat getting shot at and involved with IED's hitting his convoy.  He was honorably discharged and now lives in Willamina, Oregon, a small timber town nestled between the Willamette Valley and the Coast Range with his lovely wife Keri.  Scott is a member of a group of friends that go riding in various locations around Oregon, primarily at the Oregon Dunes.

On the weekend of April 25, 2020, our group set off for Eastern Oregon for a Social Distancing Camping trip in response to the Covid-19 crisis.  We checked with all of the local entrepreneurs and camp hosts to ensure that we were in line with State requirements and we weren’t a bother.  They welcomed the business and were excited to see us.

The weekend was going great with long trail rides, Scott had joined the group later for just a day as he had been able to continue working as an essential worker.  During the days ride on Saturday, April 25th, we ventured North to Christmas Valley to ride in the Sand Dunes.  Despite our best efforts to locate trails that would safely and legally from our campsite to the riding area, we got lost and were not able to get a direct route to our destination without driving on some roads.

After we got to the Dunes and rode around for a bit, a few members in our party were low on gas and needed to leave to head back towards the nearest gas station.  On the way out of Christmas Valley Sand Dunes area, 13 side x side UTV’s in line were suddenly halted…Scott had been shot….

Many people had been riding off road vehicles of some kind their entire lives, this scenario had everybody on high alert.  Trying to figure out what happened and ensuring Scott was ok, 911 was called and he was transported via Life Flight to the Bend, OR hospital.  The gun shot came from a small caliber hand gun with a hollow point bullet.  The bullet lodged in his Collar Bone and broke upon impact.  The bullet was unable to be removed due to the location in relation to arteries and the swelling in the area.

This page is setup for the primary purposes of covering Scott's medical bills and loss of wages while he is off of work.  At this point we don't know what the medical costs are, but we were told that Life Flight is not cheap, so we are anticipating the worst.

Any help is appreciated, but above all, we are glad Scott is still with us and wishing him a speedy recovery!
