The love of parents for their children is immeasurable. Think of having to choose between the health of your child and paying your taxes? Not paying those taxes may cause you to lose your home, but your child is more important than any house or land could ever be. Government help only went so far and medical expenses and trips to the doctor became more than their means as the Type 1 diabetes meds skyrocketed in cost. Now the county has taken their home and sold it for back taxes. The county will by law since it was homesteaded allow them to redeem (buy back) for the buyers costs + 25%. They need $6817.66 to keep from being forced from their home. They only have a short time left to raise the money and currently are selling everything they have to try and raise the money to stay in the home they raised 4 kids and 2 grandkids in.
