UMICH SCOPE - Undocumented Student Scholarship

The Student Community of Progressive Empowerment (SCOPE), is hosting its annual fundraiser to support the undocumented and DACAmented student community -- both graduate and undergraduate, at the University of Michigan. Due to the overwhelming support and success of last year's emergency relief fundraiser, SCOPE has decided to host another scholarship fundraiser to support undocumented students at the university. The money raised from this fundraiser will go towards supporting undocumented students to cover tuition, housing costs, food, transportation, medical expenses along with other expenses not covered by University aid. 

For many undocumented and DACAmented college students, affording and paying for college has been a challenge. Historically, the cost of attending higher education has been a barrier for students in our community and there is a great financial need to make up for lost jobs, reduction in work hours, and fees to renew DACA applications. Although the University of Michigan offers some financial aid to in-state students, the amount received is limited and is oftentimes not enough to cover all university related or personal expenses.

The goal is to raise $10,000 to send directly to students with the hopes of creating a safety net for the start of the Fall 2021 semester. All donations will directly go to supporting the undocumented and DACAmented students at the University.
