Scoil Mhuire supports Mayo Roscommon Hospice
Donation protected
The staff and students of Scoil Mhuire will be taking part in a 'Virtual Sports Week' this week. We decided to dedicate our participation in our 'Virtual Sports Week' to the Mayo Roscommon Hospice due to the valuable services it offers and its difficulties in fundraising in the current environment. We encourage you all to get involved and have fun while supporting a very worthy cause.
Mayo Roscommon Hospice in association with HSE West provides a specialist palliative care service, free of charge, to patients and families living with life limiting illness in counties Mayo and Roscommon. The service is available to patients in their homes and hospitals. Our mission is to care and support while meeting both the physical and emotional needs of patients and their loved ones. This vital service enables patients to live life to the full in comfort and dignity by improving their quality of life through pain control and alleviating other distressing symptoms. Patients are referred to Hospice by either their General Practitioner or their hospital consultant.
The outbreak has impacted severely on fundraising. The Foundation’s 12 shops are closed and will remain closed while the current guidelines are in place to protect staff, volunteers and donors. All fundraising events are cancelled for the foreseeable future.
