Hello, my name is Schwartz!
I just recently had my three year birthday on July 3rd. I am a very affectionate, loving purebred German Shepherd Dog. I started out with a great life, with a reputable kennel (CoppermoonGSD in Bemidji, MN) three years ago. The family who bought me did not understand the importance proper veterinary care. I lived with my new family on a wonderful farm and life was good until I was around four months old. I was loving life- running free as a bird until the accident. One day when I was at home, a vehicle of some kind struck me, then carelessly left me lying in a ditch, where my family later found me. They underestimated the damage because I surprisingly, still managed to get around even though my injuries were serious and never healed properly. My family had not found a way to fix the damage and when my they moved to another state years later, the breeder helped them find me a new home, not knowing how bad my hip is. I am in need of a semi costly surgery to help alleviate the pain that I am in every day.
The surgery I need is called a femoral head osteotomy (FHO). At three years old, all I want to do is play and run - to enjoy my life, but with this pain after running around for a short while, I have a terrible limp. My surgery is scheduled in August at Bemidji Veterinary Office with Dr. Andrew Piller. The estimated cost is between $1,500 -$2,000.
Due to this unforeseeable expense I am looking for some help from fur loving families! If you can please help me get this surgery, so I can have a pain free life, I would forever be grateful.My loving breeder, Kathy Lamping of Coppermoon Kennel will check on me to make sure that I am doing well. I am so thankful that she has graciously agreed to manage my funds for me while I am recovering, Since some of my helpers live out of state. Your assistance will be so much appreciated. As a young three year old pup you see, I have kids to play with, balls to catch and people to love, I would love to feel well enough to do those things.
