School Fees for Ugandan Children
Tax deductible
The Makula Fund for Children was founded in 2005 to help children orphaned by AIDS in Uganda to pay school fees. It also provides nutritional support and medical care to children to these children who have lost one or both parents to AIDS. Each morning sponsored children gather at a local home for a nutritious breakfast before making their way to school. The Makula Fund provides the children with the mandatory uniform and gives them the required school supplies . Should medical care be indicated they are referred to a local clinic and the office visits are paid for by the Makula Fund.
The Makula Fund is run by an all volunteer, unpaid staff so that 100% of all the funds raised benefit the children. The number of children supported is dictated by the amount of funds we are able to raise. On average, it costs $500 to support each child for one year. We support children from pre-school (called "Top" in Uganda) through high school and ending with college or technical school. Our goal is to provide the children and young adults with the skills that they will need to become self-sufficient.
The number of children that we are able to support is determined solely by the funds we are able to raise. We currently have several children on our waiting list who are seeking our help to attend school. Most of our funding comes from individuals who sponsor a specific child throughout their academic career. However we welcome any and all donations regardless of size or frequency and we appreciate your support on behalf of the children of Uganda.
Thank you.
