School project in Nepal

Donation protected

During the winter 2014 while I was working in the Alps in Italy I got to know one of the most amazing, loving and helpful human being. Already then he had a huge passion for the mountains and to help people around the world. When I got to know him better during these past years my respect towards him and his actions has got even higher!

In April 2015 there was an indescribable earthquake in Nepal, killing nearly 9 000 people, injuring nearly 22 000 and leaving even more people homeless. Big charity organisations have done a great job by helping people but they have been very focused in the Kathmandu area. Atle wanted to bring more help to the small villages in the mountains near by Mount Everest. It all started by trying to keep the people warm and that's why the websites name is Ullpledd (Norwegian name for wool blankets). Since the blankets are not enough Atle wanted to bring more help to these villages by helping the kids to get an education. He managed to do so and nowadays there are two small schools founded by him and running in a great cooperation with the locals.

For more information look up the website:

Right to education is every child's general human right, which should not be taken away because of a natural disaster like an earthquake. Therefore I am doing my best to help Atle with his school project. We will go to Nepal in May to visit both of the schools and bring as much stuff as we can. My idea is to bring school things (like pens, notebooks, english books..ect) and some blankets and warm clothes from Finland. Once we will arrive to Nepal we will spend two days (before the 14 hours road trip and 8 hours hiking to the first village) in Kathmandu buying things such as footballs, volleyballs, toys...ect. That way we can support the Nepalese companies and also buy things very cheaply. The reason for this fundraising is to buy these things in Kathmandu!

If you want to give some help straight to the kids please take part in this fundraising and remember that a little help is better than nothing (for example one football in Kathmandu doesn't cost a lot!). We will be extremely thankful for every penny!

Thumbs up that we will be able to raise enough money to help the kids! :')

Kind regards,

Noora Wilén

Ps. Everyone who is taking part in the mission will get, as a return, pictures of the things that are bought with your money and also of the kids when they get those products! =)
