David Albanese Memorial Scholarship

In August of 2017 the world became a little darker with the passing of David Albanese. David was the only child of Jennifer and John  Albanese, and was a graduate of the Lyons High School Class of 2012. He was a proud member of the football, track, and baseball teams, and many clubs. Most importantly, David was caring and funny soul. In an effort to honor his memory - and, indeed, to mend a hole in their own hearts - several of his classmates coordinated with David's parents to organize the David C. Albanese Memorial Scholarship. Our group has set the above goal in order to create a self-sustaining annual scholarship of $250. The qualifications will be as follows: "With special consideration given to those pursuing careers in mental health counseling or social work, the recipient should be, as David was, an active member of the school community and a friend to all."
