Sawyer's Medical Bills
Sawyer was diagnosed with advanced unilateral retinoblastoma when he was 6 weeks old. At 8 weeks old he received his first dose of chemotherapy. He has had 7 evaluations under anesthesia, 5 attempted Intra-Arterial Chemotherapies (3 successful) and 2 MRI’s. At 5 months old, Sawyer has been under anesthesia 13 times. Thankfully we do have health insurance, however the out of pocket expenses and co-pays along with the deductibles have nearly drowned us. After his 3rd chemotherapy and 7th EUA we were told that another EUA would be needed to reassess our game plan and most likely a 4th round of chemo would be done. There may also be an operation to attach his retina and he will have to have EUA’s routinely until he is 5 years old. At this point we just want to be able to help our son receive the best treatment possible. Sawyer has by far changed our lives for the better. He is the sweetest baby! He is always the favorite with the nurses. We are so lucky to be his parents. Anything would help and we are forever grateful for the love and support that we have and continue to receive from everyone. Please continue to pray for our little hero.
Many thanks,
Devin and Ali
