Hi, my name is Savannah! I was born and raised in South Jersey and grew up in Somers point. When I started high school my mom, sister, and I moved because my mom was going through a divorce. After searching for a place to live we settled in Upper Township. One night my dog, Grassy was attacked by another dog. I remember being in the car at 12 am holding a towel to his wounds to stop him from bleeding out. Fortunately we made it to an emergency animal hospital where they were able to fix him up. That night I realized what I wanted to become. I started at Shore Veterinarians my freshman year of high school and have been working there year round ever since. My goal is to become a Veterinarian so I can help any animal that goes through what my poor husky did, and any others in need of care. This year I am graduating with honors, am a member of the National Honors Society, and am working my butt off to gain as much knowledge through school and work about veterinary sciences. However, the schooling to become a veterinarian is costly. With a single legally blind mother it seems that this goal might be out of our cost range. I am working as hard as I can. I have worked full time every summer and part time during the school year. My mother has always tried to give my sister and I the same opportunities as all of our fellow classmates but it being a single and disabled blind parent made it hard for her. I want to one day be able to provide a safe and helpful vet care service to any family in need. No one should feel helpless in emergency situation and I want to be the one to help in those situations. If anyone can spare any amount of money, even their spare change to help me afford my first year of Undergraduate school it would be beyond appreciated. Anything is helpful. Thank you for reading my story! Please pass it on(:
