Saving the Ives

Mr Jon Ives and his beautiful wife Vicki are fighting a valiant battle against a serious blood disease threatening Vicki's life.  This has been an unrelenting foe and has been an extremely long battle for them resulting in crushing pressure on their finances and serious injury to Vicki. 

Recently, they attempted to treat Vicki at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix.  The procedure went poorly but resulted in a bill that is more than he makes as a teacher in over 15 years!  Insurance will cover some, but they must make up the difference.  This amount is more than they can handle and Jon has declined an EXCEPTIONALLY rare invitation to submit for Teacher of the Year for New Mexico!  This, due to the fact winning would take him away from school this summer, his students and the income that is so vital to continuing her treatment.  Mr Ives is not submitting to this invitation that is offered only to the top 10% of teachers in  New Mexico.

This wonderful couple, and an exceptional teacher, deserve as much help as we can give.  Their efforts to save Vicki should not go unnoticed and should not destroy their finances, or stop Mr Ives from the recognition he so richly deserves.  From the friends they love, the colleagues they support and the students they have fostered, it is time to give back to a man and woman we all know and care about.  This one hits at home.
