Saving Noble

Donation protected
My name is Nicole. On May 15, around 8:30 pm, while my partner and I were on a walk with our dog, we found a beautiful young bird on the ground. Tiny Noble was limp, with a twisted wing out to the side. Someone had thrown some dog food on the ground in front of Noble, presumably out of pity. When I approached, Noble, who must have been very afraid, didn't even try to move. I gently tucked Noble against my chest for warmth for the walk home. Noble seemed bright and looked around as we walked but didn't struggle. I think the injuries were too painful. The photo above was taken once we got home while my partner arranged a warm cage. We gently tucked Noble, who we quickly discovered couldn't walk, into a nest of soft towels for the night. I got Noble into the care of Medical Center for Birds in Oakley as soon as they opened in the morning. Imaging revealed that the wing is indeed broken in two spots. In addition, Noble has sustained extensive internal trauma. Noble has been hospitalized at MCFB since and has been receiving gavage feeding and pain medications.
Today, the vet and I talked about what to do next, as Noble has not started to self-feed, and gavage feeding has been paused due to the crop not emptying overnight. We have to figure out the cause, and the best next step is blood tests. The vet asked me how I wanted to proceed since the bill is stacking up, and it's still unclear if Noble's internal injuries are too extensive to heal. I told the vet two things: I didn't want to give up on Noble because of money, and I didn't want to keep Noble alive if Noble was ready to let go. The vet advised me that Noble seems bright and alert and, in her opinion, seems to want to fight. So I told her I'd find a way to make it happen financially. That's why I'm here on GoFundMe. This brave little bird knows nothing about money. As long as Noble wants to fight, I'm not going to give up. Noble's bill is currently at $1,500. I'm hoping to get help with part of that so I can continue to do everything necessary to help Noble fight for life.
After Noble's blood test results come back, the vet will let me know if Noble can go home with me. I have some experience in medical care, so I will be learning how to gavage feed and administer pain medications to keep the costs down without compromising Noble's care.
The vet will be sending a photo of Noble later today, which I will add to the fundraiser.
