Saving my home from cancer.

Hi My name is Glyn and was diagnosed with right sided throat cancer in June 2023.

At this time my Wife Tracy and I were partly through buying our house which is the house my Wife grew up in.

Unfortunately during my health insurance check it was flagged up about the lump on my neck which had no diagnosis yet.

The insurance company held back on carrying out my health cover (which included critical illness) until this lump had been sorted.

This lump turned out to be tonsil cancer which had spread to my lymph node.

I started a 7 week treatment of radiotherapy and 3 courses of chemotherapy which ended in September 2023.

I was given the all clear of throat cancer on the 19th January 2024.

I finally returned to work for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service on the 22nd January on alternative duties until I was physically fit to return to the frontline with my amazing colleagues.

I received a phone call at around 13:00 while back at work on the 22nd to inform me the cancer had managed to spread to both lungs and it was incurable.

I had a meeting with my consultant at St James University Hospital in Leeds yesterday (29th January 2024)

I was then informed if I have no treatment I’d live for 18 months.

With the treatment I’d have 5 years maybe a bit longer.

The treatment is only to manage my cancer not to cure it.

Im just looking for any help to try to leave my Wife and kids safe and secure in our family home before the day comes I have to leave them.
