Forever A Loan

Hello,
For those that do not know me, I am Reannon and I am a Senior in graphic design at Iowa State University.
For those that do know me, you know how much I love art, and how long I have spent loving art. I have been encouraged to draw and paint ever since I was able to use paint and markers without trying to eat them. So, my dream of being able to make art is something that is coming true, but with college comes the expense, and that is something that I have been struggling to pay.

In 2010, I lost my dad suddenly to a blood clot that traveled up to his lungs. I not only lost my dad, but I lost my friend, my teacher, and my coach. I lost motivation to do well, and lost a lot of reason to laugh. Just two years later I lost my best friend to suicide. I felt like I was barely keeping it together anymore. I wanted to do well and to make them proud, but I became depressed. I never wanted to leave my bed, and I most definitely never wanted to go to school. But I did. I went to school, and I did well. I got better as time went on, and I even got my first job.
At the end of my senior year, my mom lost her job. I had already decided on a school, and suddenly we were afraid that it would not happen. To help out, I worked extra hours after school.  That summer I worked 6 a.m. shifts almost every day, and took a Spanish class so I could be eligible for a scholarship at my school.
I have spent the past two years of school working hard enough so that all of my effort does not go to waste. I have been on the Dean's list at my school every semester I have been here, with an accumulative GPA of 3.8.
I spent my past summer working two jobs, an (unpaid) internship, and volunteering on the weekends.
Right now I work three jobs on campus doing graphic design work and illustrations just to attempt to pay off rent, food, and loan payments. I still volunteer on the weekends as a superhero, and dress up as Supergirl to visit kids.
I lost a lot in a short amount of time, but both my parents and my best friend always encouraged me. They were and are proud of me, and I want to work hard to make all their sacrifices and hard work worth while.
Even with all my jobs, I have barely made a dent in my tuition, which as anyone who has gone or paid for college, is outrageously expensive.
My school has talked about starting a tiered tuition system, which will mean that Juniors and Seniors will end up paying more to attend school, meaning that I will be in even more debt.
I believe that I deserve to win this scholarship because I have worked extremely hard to get where I am today. I not only work to save money, but I volunteer on the weekends. I deserve this scholarship because I have not allowed the loss in my life to stop me from living. I did not give up when I lost my father, or my best friend, and I did not loose hope and faith in my mom when she lost her job. I have believed in myself, and refuse to give up on getting a better education.
Everyone in my life has always been there for me, and has always tried to help me out in any way they can, and I will be forever thankful for that.
