I'm saddened to report but our sweet Mel has gone to be with her Father in Heaven. We are in the process of arranging her funeral/memorial. We want to give a HUGE thank you to all that have donated and will continue to donate. The funds will not only be used for the medical costs that have accumulated but also funeral costs and also to help Kenny. We know she's watching over each of you and smiling with a huge grin at the LOVE, SUPPORT, and THOUGHTFULNESS that you all have shown! We are so grateful that she has been able to touch so many lives! ❤❤❤
We have created this to help raise money for Melody Cass medical expenses while she is in a nursing rehabilitation center. At the beginning of September she was brought to the hospital because of a fall. She was admitted almost immediately and stayed there for 3 weeks. When she was finally released we found out that she had acute kidney and liver failure and had become anemic. She was doing ok for the first day or two at home and we were excited to have her back! But, things took a turn for the worst a few days later and an ambulance had to be called to take her back to the hospital. With hospitals being on the alert because of Covid we have not been able to see or really speak with her. She was first in ICU and after a blood transfusion, moved to a nursing facility to rehabilitate her to come home but she has had a few falls there and needs to spend a little more time there.
We received a letter on Friday that stated on November 9th we will need to pay $50/day because her insurance will only cover a few more days. At this time we are not able to pay this much and we know that she needs this extra care. We fear that if she is told to leave the facility too soon she will not survive.
We are asking and thanking you for your donations. Any amount would help and we KNOW she will feel everyone's love!
