Help Victims of Human Trafficking

Donation protected
Warmest greetings to our closest family & friends! As many of you know, I retired from banking law/consulting a few years ago, and since then have been serving others by building a non-profit organization - called Saving Grace - focused on helping survivors of human trafficking.  I have the joy of building this organization with my dear friend and brother, Paul Brown.  Paul proudly served in the US Army, and was a telecommunications engineer for almost 20 years.  We have made great progress with Saving Grace, and together with law enforcement and our community partners have had the honor to assist many extraordinary survivors change their lives.  Other than a few generous donations, we have been self-funded since the inception of Saving GraceWe need your help to continue our fight to end Human Trafficking and to assist the thousands of survivors in our community...and yours.

With an estimated 4.5 million victims of sex trafficking worldwide, there are men, women and children being sold for sex in cities and towns in all 50 states.  Many of these victims are citizens of the United States, and are forced or otherwise coerced into an oppressive existence that includes extreme violence, manipulation, isolation / confinement, psychological abuse, forced addiction, debt bondage, blackmail, and repeated rape / sexual assault.

Human Trafficking is a tragedy that many people don't even know exists in the US.  Deemed "modern slavery" by many working in this space, human trafficking effectively traps vulnerable individuals in a seemingly inescapable cycle of crushing abuse - often beginning as young as 12 or 13 years old.  The methodology used by traffickers continues to evolve - particulalry with advances in technology and social media.  Sites on the deep / dark web provide traffickers with a cheap, relatively simple means of advertising trafficked individuals and connecting with potential buyers. This is where our daughters, our sisters, our mothers and our friends are being bought and sold for commercial sex at a staggering rate.

Although government agencies at the local, state and federal levels are making significant advancments in the area of Human Trafficking, the astonishing profitability associated with this industry inspires traffickers to stay ahead of evolving laws and other ways we are trying to end Human Trafficking.  One of the biggest challenges is a fundamental lack of funding for long term services as survivors transition out of "the life".  This includes intensive trauma counseling and other psychological services, medical and dental treatment,  addiction treatment, employment training, life skills training, transportation, legal services, and housing.  Our primary focus at Saving Grace is to continue to work with law enforcement and our community partners in adopting a hollistic model to identify and secure all of these services for survivors; and to advocate for additional protections for survivors - legal and otherwise.  Our long-term goal is to eventually open a home to provide long-term housing for survivors as they evolve into a more stable, successful and happy life.

We need your help to continue this important work!  We have the beginning of our website in place at www.savinggrace.org, however this GoFundMe campaign is currently the only way to contribute to our cause.  If you're unable to make a donation, we ask that you do your part to end Human Trafficking by becoming more educated on this human rights crisis, and by sharing this information with your friends and family.  The first step to ending Human Trafficking is increasing basic awareness of its existence in the US.

Saving Grace and the survivors we assist are so grateful for all the support and encouragement we have already received from many of you, We look forward to sharing this amazing experience with you!
