MVD repair surgery for YUZU

Thank you for coming to Yuzu's GoFundMe.  Yuzu's heart condition has deteriorated in the last 6 months. I was devastated to hear the dreaded news. Some of the cords connecting her heart valve has torn, which is causing a lot more blood to flow back, increasing pressure in her chamber. This pressure has enlarged her heart and is also causing high blood pressure. I can even hear and feel her heart regurgitating when I place my hand on her chest. It is terrifying.

I am asking for help, and any help! Mitral valve repair surgery is currently only done in Japan, by the one and  only, Dr. Uechi.  RVC in London just suspended their program and University of Florida will not start until 2021 due to the pandemic, with a waiting list of more than 200 dogs already. 

My only hurdle is financially being prepared. We had a set back with Yuzu's GI issues, and all the necessary exams before surgery will be expensive. Pet insurance will cover 80% what will be done here in the US, but nothing for overseas. Her surgery, hospitalization, pre-op/post-op exams, airfare and accommodation will cost around $20,000-$23,000. Already in debt, I am taking out all I have left of my credit cards and what I hope to have with my tax return. I have been self employed all my career, so I don't have a 401k to cash out. Working 3 full times jobs, I think I will be able to come up with about $15,000 from different sources, but am asking for help to save Yuzu. 

This is an expensive surgery, but Yuzu has been with me through some of my darkest times, she is my shadow and I am willing to do anything for her. She was by my side through divorce, depression and when I isolated myself from society due to all the anxiety and grief. She is the reason I am alive today. She saved my life and it's my turn to save hers.  If for any unfortunate reason, I will not be able to use the donations for Yuzu, the funds will be going to the Mighty Heart's Project where many dogs like Yuzu are finding hope.
