Hi Everyone,
My name is Zen and I can really use your help and support to save The Studi0. I opened my first recording studio and creative space in Downtown Raleigh (pictured above) in 2014. Anyone that knows me knows how passionate I am about it. It was a place that artists could go to get professional work done in an evironment that encourages creativity and freedom of self-expression. In only two short years, I was able to accomplish so much. I put everything I had into it to make it unforgettable and unlike any other studio anyone has ever been in.
Recently, the building was sold and I was given 30 days to vacate the property. It is set to be demolished soon. I'm extremly sad to see it go. Luckily, I found another amazing space close by that will be the new home for the studio for many years to come. It is beautiful and a blank slate for a fresh start. I started construction on it and have most of the framing up, but that was all I could afford. The Studi0 was my primary source of income so since I was forced to close it, all construction had to come to a hault. I don't go in there because it hurts to see it in that state.
I want to keep what I started in Raleigh going. It's so special to me and to the creative community and I'm very proud of what I was able to start, especially as a female in a male dominated industry at my age. I pride myself on being self-sufficient, but I know when to ask for help and this is one of those times. I've been performing and throwing shows/events like FreeLunchNC and sold some very sentimental pieces of jewelry to earn money for construction. I can't complete this alone. It's going to cost $6200 to complete the rest of the construction.
All of your donations will go towards the completion of The Studi0. My goal is to raise enough money so that The Studi0 can be completed and ready for the Grand Opening in January 2017. Everyone that contributes to this fund will be invited to the grand opening party at The Studi0 to see and celebrate what you helped build!
