Life. We never know when our lives will be flipped over and the worst words on the planet be “You have cancer”. On September 14, 2017 my worst fears came true. My diagnosis is Stage 3B (T3) and it is an aggressive type of breast cancer. It is operable and surgery will start after chemo is done.My doctors decided to start me with chemo first because my tumor is 5.7 cm like the size of a large lime. They also found 2 lymph nodes with cancer but thankfully contained meaning still INSIDE of the cell. As an independent woman who has always done everything by myself, I didn’t know how to feel. Should I Cry? Scream? Be mad? So this is hard for me to do. To ask for help but my doctors encouraged me and said “strong women find it hard to ask for help but there is STILL kindness in people”. My health insurance covers 75% of my treatment and the hospital covers the slack. However there are a few medical bills that I have been told the hospital will not cover so it will be on me. I have a long road to recovery as I will have a mastectomy. Unfortunately I will have a lot of transportation bills since I need to travel to/from Seattle ( fuel, snow tires, parking and maintenance), medical bills from the first doctors that diagnosed me, my surgery and I might have lost wages depending on recovery. Being so close to the holidays doesn’t help either but if you can any donation amount will help.
