Our dog Tato, has been sentenced to be euthanized, by Allegan County. As most of you know, Tato is our rescue pup. We looked long and hard for our new best friend. We knew we wanted to rescue to save a life, after our beloved Bubba, unexpectedly lost his. That’s when God called us to Detroit Animal Care and Control. We drove to Detroit, to take Tato out of a high kill shelter, and provide him with a loving home. Tato was with us for 3 short weeks when he made a horrible mistake and nipped a dog’s ear. He didn’t know, he was still trying to figure out his role in our house. He didn’t even know what a home was until ours. Over 3 months went by, with no word. We honestly thought the owners just dropped it, and the dog was fine. That was until July 16th. Animal Control showed up, ILLEGALLY took Tato, and informed me I needed to appear in court to show cause as to why he should not be killed. July 30, Tato was sentenced to die. This dog, who spent half his life in a shelter, 3 short weeks with us before the incident, and 4 months after with no future issues, was to be killed in 9 days. We have been blessed with an amazing attorney, and so much support from people who see what a good boy Tato is. Help us spread the word on this unjust sentence of Tato.
