It is with a heavy heart that I create this page to assist my amazing brother, Sam Perri and his beautiful wife, Lizanne Perri (Carlton).
Over the weekend Sam and Lizanne suffered a great loss, the passing of their first born child, little Sammy (Saverio Francesco Perri, Jr.). Sam and Lizanne were blindsided by the devastating news that little Sammy was born with a heart defect. Ultrasounds never detected the defect and Lizanne had “the perfect pregnancy”, one that some mothers would envy! These excited, first time parents, expected nothing but the birth of a healthy baby boy. Complications after his birth were immediate. Concern over his breathing, heart, lungs and overall wellbeing came quickly. After the necessary testing, doctors notified Sam and LIzanne that baby Sammy would require immediate surgery. The major hurdle would be stabilizing him enough to make the journey from Central DuPage Hospital to Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital which is a 40-45 min. trip. Baby Sammy was extremely strong and fought VERY HARD, but after many hours of fighting, Sammy could not fight any longer.
I’m starting this fund to help Sam and Lizanne during this very difficult time. All funds received will go toward medical expenses and the burial expenses. Any funds left over, after expenses are paid, will go toward a foundation Sam and Lizanne plan to start up in memory of little Sammy.
Your monetary support can help the family grieve without the additional stress of financial hardship. In the face of grief, money may seem insignificant, but it can ease the family’s burden so they can begin to heal.
