Save Winter, Help Her Receive Life-saving Surgery

I'm Chanel (Winter's momma), I've had winter for 4 years now, and she's always been the most cuddly & loving girl I could ask for. Her love for others, her care, and the compassionate bond she has with her sister (Snickers) have always made me a proud ferret momma. Snickers is Winters's little sister, she has always looked up to Winter as a positive role model, and a best friend. From the second I saw Winter, I knew she would become my best friend as well. I am a 2nd-year university student at McGill University studying biomedical sciences. I, unfortunately, do not have any financial income, as a full-time stem major. I am in a poor financial situation and need funds to save my baby. If you know me, you probably know that I treat my pets like my children; therefore, I am sure you can imagine how heartbroken I am at the moment.

Unfortunately, Winter has developed a life-threatening complication. On November 9th, 2022 things took a turn for the worse, I discovered that she has many unexplained bladder stones that cannot be passed naturally. Bladder stones can be passed naturally in most situations; however Winter's condition is highly severe, accompanied by blood in the urine (hematuria), her condition is painful and fatal without surgery. Therefore, she must have surgery (a cystotomy). If she does not receive this surgery, it is likely that she will die in less than two weeks. She has received x-rays, blood tests, antibiotics, and pain medication as she is in immense pain. These totaled $543.95 (paid for using my emergency credit card). The price of the surgery is likely to approach $1,902.61. Her surgery is scheduled for next Wednesday, November 16th at 11:00 AM (unless her health declines at an aggressive rate, where she will be brought into emergency surgery). She will be expected to receive at least 3 days, and overnight care at the Montreal Bird and Exotic Animal Hospital. I will attach images of vet bills/information.

I cannot stress how much Winter is loved by not only me, but our family and friends, and of course her sister, Snickers, who would be devastated without her partner in crime by her side.
