For over 25 years In Your Ear Music Emporium has been a staple to people of Jackson County and Western North Carolina. It has been a privilege to be part of such a wonderful community. It is because of you, the people, that we we do what we do. We've come to know many of you through the years. Watched many of you grow up and, hopefully, helped provide the soundtrack for your lives. Without YOU there is no In Your Ear Music. And now it is YOU we must turn to in these difficult times.
The beginning of 2020 has been rough to say the least. Now, due to the current health crisis, we, as well as most of the downtown Sylva businesses, have had to close our doors to the public. As of yet this closure is of an indeterminate amount of time. We fully understand the seriousness of the situation and will do whatever we can to help avert this crisis. But because of the rough start of the year a closure of any kind could be potentially devastating to a retail business such as ours. E-Commerce has been gradually casting more of it's shadow over brick and mortar stores making it harder for them to survive. But we fight this battle daily because towns like Sylva need places like In Your Ear Music.
Our plea is this. If you are able please donate what you can to help ensure that In Your Ear Music will survive the public safety closures. You money will go to cover the overhead operating costs that we accrue during this period such as utilities, payroll, and non-deferred invoices during a non-income period. We are scraping together what little we have to ride out our fiscal responsibilities, but that will soon evaporate. We have also applied for an SBA loan but that will take some time to activate. We understand that everyone is feeling nervous during these troubling times, as are we. We'd like you to know that the people at In Your Ear will always be there for you as long as you need us.
